GDC Europe Conference Associates
(Student Volunteers)

If you’re a University student and interested in attending GDC Europe in exchange for volunteering approximately 20 hours of work with a fantastic group of people, then apply for the Conference Associate (CA) program!

GDC Europe 2009 runs from Monday morning, August 17 through Wednesday evening, August 19, 2009. Conference Associates have pre-conference assignments and a required orientation on Sunday, August 16. If you are accepted into the program, you are needed from the start of your Sunday assignments through the end of the conference on the evening of Wednesday, August 19, so please plan accordingly.

Please note: Applications will be accepted until Friday, June 12.

What are the benefits?

• Complimentary registration equivalent to an "All Access" conference pass that can be used when not on-duty. Your All Access pass also includes a four-day trade visitor ticket for gamescom 2009.

What kind of work does the job involve?

Challenging tasks (some might require advanced degrees) such as:

• Guarding doors, checking badges
• Monitoring conference sessions
• Assisting speakers in their sessions
• Checking badges during meals and special events
• Stuffing/Assembling conference bags
• Answer questions from attendees
• Data entry... And much more!

You will still be responsible for:

• Travel expenses to and from the conference
• Hotel or housing expenses
• Food expenses for any meals which are not normally provided to "All Access" pass holders
